Gillett FFA member, Jacob Timm, attended the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. on July 14th-19th 2015. More than 2,100 members from all corners of the United States attended this conference over the seven week span.
“Students who attend the Washington Leadership Conference learn their purpose, how to value people, how take action and the importance of serving others,” National FFA Organization CEO Dr. Dwight Armstrong said. “They leave with the knowledge and the confidence to act in ways that help their schools, communities and their country.”
Jacob describes his experience as astonishing while learning how to make a difference in his community that can easily make a change in the world.
“Being the only one from Gillett attending,” said Timm “was definitely a new experience but made me expand my comfort zone and make new friends along the way.” He also notes that it was a great opportunity to be able to connect and network with other students from all over the United States while exploring all of what the nation’s capitol had to offer.
Jacob would like to thank the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association and Section 8 of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni for their scholarships that he was awarded.
